A Slice of Thought, That Night

Have you ever thought why suddenly your friends are going away?

Your group chats used to always show its notifications badge. You used to chat almost every day. Even only to share laughable memes….and hilarious videos.

And every once a while, you all get excited to arrange when and where to meet up. Then on one fine day — on your usual busy day, you suddenly realize… those days start to get expired.

The topic of friendship in mid-20 is undoubtedly has been discussed very often. I have read couples of related tweets in my twitter (with more than a thousand likes and retweets, of course, indicating that significant amount of people shared similar thoughts), articulating the sadness of ‘losing’ friends in this age. It is indeed painful for everyone and even more painful since most of it is done ‘unintentionally’.

Growing up means more responsibilities to be taken. Work, family, and love-related issues are mostly in the main list. Some of us often feel too tired to catch up because feeling so drained after juggling with abundant amount of works. And in this particular age, it is not wrong to say that many of us choose to have their family (be it their parents or their newly built small family) and partner (this term is I guess for couples who are not yet married) as their energy booster in limited time to rest from routines.

Or if it is not on that scenario, I can assure you that many feel to regard either a good sleep or to binge-watching films and series on weekend as a perfect option after investing so much energy on weekdays dealing with people and stress from work.

Aside from responsibilities, we all understand that growing up also means dealing with problems on our own. I am not going to mention the example of the problems but I personally believe it is most likely related to those issues I mentioned in the previous lines. As complex as it may seem, to experience it alone can be very exhausting. Once we experience this, we know that the other humans are also dealing with their (probably) more stressful issues going on in their life. As a matter of fact, these problems perhaps demand enough attention and energy for someone that they barely have spare time for the others.

After all, it is all about priority and everyone has their freedom to choose their own.

But in case you realize someone is going through all the juggle and still put the effort to maintain your relationship, you know, you should not let them go through all the effort alone.
